Get Paid To Write: 5 Top Websites

Hello readers! Want to get paid to write?

Reading my emails last week, I encountered a gentleman looking for websites that pay writers for articles. It’s one of the more commonplace and simplistic ways of making some extra cash online and I was happy for this person who wanted to seek information to help them make extra money! I was more specifically surprised in that some people had tried certain websites and they either didn’t pay or they were far more difficult or trouble than they were worth. These couple of readers had wanted to know of a legitimate website they could go to so they can get paid to write articles. Now of course, there are so many websites out there that it’s sometimes difficult to determine which is legit and (more importantly) worth it.

So, as I provided him with a list, I figured this would be entirely useful information here at BreadFromYourBed!

And without further ado:

  1. Listverse : One of my personal favorite websites, this website pays writers for creating funny or thought provoking lists, such as Top 10 lists. Now, they don’t want boring “Top 10 ways to bake a cake” or stuff like that. They want “Top 10 reasons why college makes you dumb” or something funny to that effect. Their submission process is relatively simple; you go on their website and fill out their form and insert your article. If your article gets accepted, they’ll pay you $10 via PayPal. There is no limit to the amount of articles you can submit and it goes without saying that you should check out some of the articles there first so you get a feel for what they’re looking for. Since there is no limit to the articles you can submit, if your articles are good and you get the general feel for the website, this can be quite the profitable income stream!

2. ProfitBricks: A website that compiles a library of tutorials on various technical issues, you can get paid to write an article or tutorial on any technical topic. They define a suitable tutorial as something that builds practical skills, relates to installing and configuring software or applications, and something that conveys technical topics in an accessible manner. ProfitBricks will pay up to $200 per article/tutorial.

3. Babble: Brought to you by Disney, Babble will pay you for articles ranging from parenting, to lifestyle, to entertainment, and beyond. They are obviously reputable as they are owned by Disney and can certainly afford to pay writers for articles. I very much encourage you to check them out as they aren’t as ‘strict’ on what they accept so long as the writing is good and friendly. You can expect to make anywhere from $50 and up writing articles for Babble.

4. Back To College: A really awesome and unique idea, Back To College is a website geared towards helping adults (young and old) with any information or articles that will help them as they prepare to go back to college. Very interesting stuff that (for those college students and writers out there) can be quite fun to write about. Payment is anywhere from $50 and up, however, the only downside here is that your article can take 30-90 days to gain acceptance.

5. Gawker Media: Another really great website that boasts “Today’s Gossip is Tomorrows News”, Gawker offers writers the chance to create funny, entertaining, and hilarious news articles. They accept written essays and/or personal stories, so long as they are funny and will be something people want to read. This is fortunately one of the more reputable companies out there who absolutely do pay writers for their articles. They offer a great opportunity for writers looking to get paid to write. You can expect to make $100+ an article for Gawker.

In Closing:

There are many websites out there that will present writers with the opportunity to get paid to write. However, with so many out there, it’s tough to know which are legit and which pay the best. I hope that despite the fact there are so many more than these 5, that you’ll have found one or two of these to your liking and will help develop another income stream from this. It’s a very fun, rewarding, and could be profitable venture to start writing articles online. It’s always best to streamline what you’re doing though so that you know exactly what websites you’re writing for and what that content is. So I hope this list of 5 legit good ones works for you and I’ll probably end up doing another article down the road listing more that I’ll have come across.

Thanks for reading my article on ways to get paid to write and please do share this article and as a whole with all of your friends and family on Social Media.
